A guy I work with at a record store has an amazing knowledge of music,but it is very narrow and shallow,hence he gets upset by the fact that people keep comparing the vocal work on this album to Brian Wilson or the Beach Boys,but I swear(and having read other reviews,I am not alone)this sounds like the Beach Boys filtered through a pop cheese cloth,the music is a strange trippy pop,one that hisses and seethes along like it is sent through a wash of static,and the the aforementioned "beach boys vocals"bring it to another place entirely.

Panda Bear is one of the Animal Collective group if you did not know,and while I have had trouble getting into them so far,I love this piece of pop acid trip,it sounds old and new at the same time,which is no mean feat.Check it out.
